Study Italian With Me!

Study Italian With Me!Ciao!, mi presento. Mi chiamo Steve.

Hi!, may I introduce myself. My name is Steve.

I have a passion for Italy and all things Italian. I am currently Studying Italian and wish to share my experience learning this beautiful language. It was October 2008 when I started to seriously Study Italian. I began by teaching myself through a home study course and hugo's ''Italian in three months''. Then I started to attend an Italian conversation class which improved my speaking skills greatly. I took the Italian G.C.S.E exam in June 2009 and achieved an A*.

By surrounding myself with the Italian Language I was able to progress more quickly. I did this by listening to Italian radio, watching Italian films and listening to Italian music. Even though I didn't understand most of what was being said, I developed a good ear for the Italian Language hearing Italian spoken by real Italians. By doing this I also improved my listening skills for the Italian I did know and it definitely improved my pronunciation.

I am continuing to Study Italian and wish to share new things I learn and pass on knowledge of the Italian Language I have already learnt. When learning a language one will learn and understand things more quickly if you surround yourself with it and try to use it as often as possible. The advice I can give you from my personal experience is this:

1) Surround yourself with the language as much as possible.

- watch films.

- listen to the radio.

- read newspapers online.

- read childrens books or magazines

2) Study for short periods (1 to 2 hours) at a time and understand what you have learnt before moving on to something new.

3) Think in Italian as much as possible (A good time is when you are alone).

4) If you are passionate and dedicated then learning the language will come more quickly.
